“In the farewell call, I thanked Blinken for his decisive role at a turning point in history, which helped to ensure the survival of Ukraine as an independent, free and European nation,” said the head of the Foreign Ministry.
He added that Ukraine values the strategic partnership with the United States and relies on the “constant support” of the new administration.

State Department spokesman Matthew Miller also reported on the conversation between Sybiga and Blinken, during which the Secretary of State thanked his Ukrainian colleague for “personal partnership and strengthening bilateral relations between the United States and Ukraine.”
“(Blinken and Sibiga – eds.) also discussed recent sanctions actions aimed at depriving Russia of the resources it needs to continue its aggressive war, as well as continuing work to create conditions for a safe, peaceful and prosperous Ukraine,” the statement said.
Anthony Blinken headed the US State Department in January 2021 as part of Joe Biden’s administration. President-elect Donald Trump nominated Marco Rubio for the post.
