Details: Commenting on the statement of Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk about the agreement on the first exhumations of the Polish victims of the Volyn tragedy, Sibiga said that Ukraine and Poland “respect each other and together defend themselves from Russian imperialism.”
“Every resolved bilateral issue is a blow to Moscow,” the diplomat emphasized, expressing hope for “further implementation of agreements based on mutual respect and reciprocity.”
We will remind you that in Warsaw it was said that the resolution of historical disputes will be one of the mandatory conditions for Ukraine’s accession to the EU.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance announced that it plans to include the search and exhumation of the remains of Poles in the Rivne region in 2025, responding to relevant requests from Polish citizens.
At the end of November, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Poland and Ukraine, Radoslav Sikorsky and Andriy Sybiga, adopted a joint statement on the issue of exhumations, which has become a stumbling block in relations between the two states.
