“After the Bürgenstock summit, Ukraine, Russia and the United States were regularly informed about our readiness to support any diplomatic efforts to establish peace,” he said.
Bideau assured that the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court for the head of the Kremlin will not be an obstacle to his potential arrival in Switzerland.
According to him, the Swiss government allegedly has the right to make an exception if it is necessary for peace negotiations.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyi previously stated that the first negotiations on ending the Russian-Ukrainian war will take place with US President-elect Donald Trump and only then potentially with Putin.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported that Kyiv expects a meeting between Zelenskyi and Trump shortly after his inauguration on January 20.
On January 10, the National Security Council’s strategic communications coordinator at the White House, John Kirby, said that currently neither side of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine is ready to “negotiate” a settlement.
