“It (the complex – ed.) can shoot down drones, cruise missiles and even helicopters. This is a capability that Ukraine needs, given that Russian long-range strikes are now very intense throughout the country,” Swedish Defense Minister Paul Jonson said.
These installations will be specially adapted for shooting down drones and other aerial threats at short distances.
Denmark invests more than 40 million euros in the purchase of Tridon Mk2.
The exact number of complexes purchased for Ukraine is confidential, but according to Swedish officials, it will meet the needs of the air defense battalion. The systems are already in the production stage, and it is expected that they will be delivered to Ukraine in a few months.
On February 1, it became known that Sweden is also preparing “one of the largest” military aid packages for Ukraine.
We will remind:
- The government of Ukraine expects that the factory of the manufacturer of the Swedish Gripen fighters will appear in Ukraine in 2033, and the planes themselves – “much earlier.”
- President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the first planes could arrive as early as 2026.
