The Tridon systems were developed by the Swedish company BAE Systems Bofors and are designed to effectively repel Russian air attacks. According to Swedish Defense Minister Paul Jonson, the volume of this purchase will allow Ukraine to form an entire air defense battalion. In addition to direct support of the Ukrainian army on the battlefield, this contract will contribute to the development of the defense and industrial complex of Sweden itself.
Tridon is a mobile anti-aircraft system capable of effectively combating drones, missiles and aircraft at low altitudes. The transfer of such systems will be an important contribution to the protection of civil and military infrastructure from the constant terrorist attacks of the Russian Federation. Both partner countries have confirmed their unwavering readiness to support Ukraine to complete victory.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, publicly appealed to the allies with a request to hand over the missiles for air defense systems available in warehouses to Ukraine. NATO confirmed that such work is already underway.
In addition, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiga reported on the receipt of energy aid packages from international partners and volunteer organizations.
