Viceremierka and Minister of Economy Yulia Sviridenko commented on a recent meeting of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky with US President Donald Trump, held in the Vatican.
According to her, this event opens up new opportunities to achieve peace, but only if the strength and determination from Ukraine and its partners.
Sviridenko stressed that the Saturday meeting of leaders in the Vatican is “a chance to move forward, to build a real peace through power.” She emphasized that the Kremlin ruler Vladimir Putin is not interested in ending the war, but only trying to win time for his further aggressive actions.
The minister is convinced that only strengthening sanctions against the Russian Federation and increasing political and economic pressure can make the aggressor stop the war.
In her opinion, this approach will be beneficial not only to Ukraine, but also by the United States, which are interested in stability and security in Europe.
After negotiating Trump, President Zelensky said that this meeting “has the potential to become historical” and was evaluated in the White House as “very productive.” These words indicate that both sides are set to search for effective decisions to end the war against the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
We will remind, after meeting in the Vatican with President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, the American leader made a more pro -Ukrainian post on his social network.
We have already reported that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Italy Prime Minister George Meloni had a meeting in Rome, which discussed key security issues, continuation of military assistance and common steps to achieve peace.
