Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation with the assistance of the Department of Internal Security of the National Police reported the suspicion to the director of the enterprise from Kryvyi Rih. It supplied the military with 20,000 sleeping bags of poor quality.

In 2023 the enterprise signed a contract with the military unit for the amount 30 million hryvnias.
However, according to the conclusion of the examination, the supplied goods did not meet the technical requirements. In particular, the fabric did not correspond to the declared composition, and the bags lacked important elements: a fleece lining and a layer of special fabric that provides thermal insulation.
It is reported that due to the discrepancy, the sleeping bags could not be used as intended, which endangered the comfort and safety of the Ukrainian military.
The director of the enterprise was charged with fraud, which was committed on a particularly large scale (Part 5 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for punishment up to 12 years old deprivation of liberty with confiscation of property.
It is also known that the military unit filed a lawsuit in court for the amount 6 million hryvnias for compensation of damages and the demand to replace defective goods. The court satisfied the requirements in full.
Currently, the investigation is ongoing, in particular, the possibility of involvement in the crime of officials of the military unit, who could be responsible for accepting low-quality products, is being checked.
