Suspension of pension payments: the minister told who did not receive moneyUlyutin gave an explanation about the payment of pensions / photo ua.depositphotos.comInformation about the suspension of payments for 1.3 million pensioners does not correspond to reality, but the payment of pensions has been suspended for some.

This was announced on Facebook by the Minister of Social Policy, Family and National Unity, Denys Ulyutin. According to him, as of January 1, pension payments were suspended for 337,000 pensioners who:

  • have not passed physical identification by December 31, 2025;
  • did not report that they do not receive a pension from the Russian Federation.

“Since the beginning of 2026, some of them have had their pensions renewed and paid already in January, and more than 48,000 people will receive renewed pensions in February. Currently, there are pension cases without confirmed information, in which the settlements in the temporarily occupied territory are still indicated as the addresses for receiving payments, or who left the temporarily occupied territories and did not report the non-receipt of payments,” the minister emphasized.

He emphasized that internally displaced persons (IDPs) who transferred their pension to the territory controlled by Ukraine are not required to undergo identification, but must report non-receipt of payments from the Russian Federation.

Ulyutin also told how to renew payments:

  • online using Action.Signature (web portal or application of the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU);
  • through video identification;
  • in person at any PFU service center or at an authorized bank;
  • to send a certificate of survival from abroad.

He also told how to report non-receipt of payments from the Russian Federation:

  • in the office on the PFU web portal;
  • during video identification;
  • in the PFU department;
  • by postal transfer of documents, if the pensioner is abroad.

The problem of pensions in UkraineAs UNIAN reported, on January 30, Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets stated that many pensioners from among IDPs, of whom there are more than 1.3 million, were left without pensions in January. He reported on numerous appeals to stop payment of pensions by the PFU authorities due to lack of identification.

According to him, in order to receive a pension, it was necessary to go through the procedure of confirming the fact that they do not receive a pension from the Russian Federation, but many pensioners do not understand smartphones and cannot make and put an electronic signature.
