Ukrainian football player Vasyl Kravets and his family were involved in a large-scale traffic accident in the Rivne region. Despite the fact that the car was wedged between the trucks, the athlete, his wife and child suffered minor injuries. The accident occurred in the evening on the Kyiv — Chop highway and involved four vehicles, the State Emergency Service reports.
The traffic accident happened near the village of Tarakaniv, Dubensky district, Rivne region. According to preliminary data, three multi-ton trucks — DAF, Volvo and Scania — and a Mercedes-Benz E 220 d passenger car collided on the track, in which the defender of Kharkiv “Metalista 1925” Vasyl Kravets was with his wife Yaryna and their child.
As a result of the collision, the passenger car was trapped between the trucks and suffered serious damage. According to relatives, the car was actually destroyed.
Vasyl Kravets was able to get out of the mutilated salon on his own. Instead, his wife and daughter remained trapped inside the car. To save them, rescuers of the State Emergency Service arrived on the scene, and with the help of special equipment, they unblocked the victims.
After the accident, the whole family was taken to the reception department of the Dubensk city hospital. Doctors diagnosed minor physical injuries and severe stress. There is no threat to life. Truck drivers were also able to leave their vehicles on their own and refused hospitalization.
Later, Vasyl Kravets addressed his followers on social networks, publishing a video from the scene of the accident. The football player thanked everyone who supported his family and noted that he considers their rescue a miracle. “I thank God for the life of my family. Thank you all for your support and kind words,” wrote Kravets.
Currently, law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances and causes of the accident. The issue of legal assessment of the actions of the accident participants is being resolved.
