The Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk promptly signed the Bill No. 12414, which deprives the independence of the National Anti -Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti -Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
The document has already been submitted for signature of the President of Ukraine.
According to the law, all key powers of NABU and SAP go to the Attorney General.
In particular, the Prosecutor General will receive the right to take Criminal proceedings of NABU, give detectives mandatory instructions, personally sign suspicions to top officials, and the SAP leader actually becomes a nominal figure without real influence.
We will remind, the Council adopted a law that actually subordinates the NABU and SAP of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
NABU is also suspected of the SBU official of extorting a bribe.
