Ukrainian motorists are expecting an estimated increase in the cost of fuel with the beginning of 2026. Expert in the field Fuel, the sponsor of the Prime Group Dmitry Leushkin, assumes that raising excise duty will entail the increase in the price of gasoline and diesel fuel by 1.5 hryvnia, and liquefied gas – up to 1 hryvnia for each liter. However, this climb will not be noticeable immediately.
Excise duty: January VS February Despite the fact that the increase in excise duty on fuel is scheduled from January 1, 2026, the specialist explains that the situation does not respond immediately. Usually, market participants make significant purchases of resources in advance to sell them at former rates.
“Until February we will sell a December resource. Always before increasing excise duties, market players are actively stored by fuel, ”Leushkin said.
Therefore, the real price of UAH 1-1.5 is expected only since February 2026.
