Current employees can now take care of providing decent payments.

The first Deputy Minister of Social Policy Darius Marchak told this in an interview with Radio Liberty.

“The people who work now need to know that their future depends on their present. Because the amount of solidarity pension of each person depends on how many contributions we have paid to the pension system today,” she said.

According to Marchak, according to the study of the Kiev School of Economics, about 80% of people do not understand at all what their future pension depends.

She gave an example: there are often situations when a person is fighting for retirement before, and then it turns out that the pension is derived from the amount of contributions and how much time you worked. Yes, retirement 5 years earlier can reduce a pension by about 30%. And the extension of the life of the same term will additionally increase the pension to the same 30%.

“If a person works like an icep and receives a high wage, but pays taxes as a FOP 3 groups, that is, as a minimum wage, then the amount of the pension for him will be calculated from the minimum wage. People do not think about it too,” Marchak said.

According to the Deputy Minister, everyone now has to understand that their future pension depends on the size of its contributions and the length of work.

“Even for the current formula that has many issues, a person who has been working for 30 years and will pay contributions from the average salary, the amount of the pension will not be so small,” she said.

Marchak also said that Ukrainians can now make their own contributions within the voluntary cumulative pension system, which is not so popular.

“There are from a dozen funds that show that, despite the 2014 crisis, the 2015 superinflation, a full -scale invasion of 2022, in the long run, contributions help to overlap, including inflation.
