Sinner hung a bagel on his opponent in Vienna and within an hour he went to the 2nd round

The second racket of the world in men’s singles Yannick Sinner (Italy) won the opening match of the ATP 500 tournament in Vienna (Austria), which is held on hard surfaces indoors.

In the first round, the Italian defeated the representative of Germany in two sets Daniel Altmayer (ATP 51) in 59 minutes, beating him in the first game.

Sinner held his fourth head-to-head against Altmaier and won his third – the second in 2025.

Yannik’s next opponent in Vienna will be his compatriot Flavio Cobolli, who at the start of the five-hundred-year tournament dealt with Tomasz Makhach.

Yannick won his 44th match of 2025 and 58th in the last 64 matches. Since winning the 2024 Shanghai Masters trophy, Sinner has 39 wins in 42 matches on hard courts.

Last week, Yannick won the Six Kings Slam exhibition competition in Riyadh, where he defeated Carlos Alcaraz in the final and took home not only the trophy but also a check for six million dollars.
