This week, the Verkhovna Rada is planned to vote for the Law No. 11228-1, which can provide “amnesty” for corruption crimes.
The head of the Corruption Center Vitaliy Shabunin said that this initiative would avoid punishment – it is enough to obtain permission from the Political SBU.
The bill provides for amendments to Article 43 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: actions that have caused damage to the state will not be considered a crime if they were performed within the framework of a counterintelligence.
According to Shabunin, this creates the possibility of legalization of corruption – tomorrow the SBU head can sign “Indulgence” for Artem Shilo and other persons close to the President, and the NABU/SAP case will be in the landfill.
