Not just a standard disclaimer such as “the status of a veteran is not an excuse for committing intentional murders,” which has already been voiced by the National Police. But a specific answer to the questions asked by the locals,” he wrote on Facebook.

Among these issues are the “ambiguous actions” of representatives of the local authorities, which could have provoked a shootout and mass casualties. The veteran’s entourage said that a pro-Russian deputy and the local police leadership, who are in close relations with him, could be behind the events.

Later, the head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Cherkasy region, Oleg Gudyma, clarified that the shooting in the Cherkasy region against law enforcement officers was carried out by a former military man. According to local residents, the shooter is Serhiy Rusinov, who allegedly had a personal conflict with a deputy of the Korsun City Council.
