Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal stated that international partners will continue to support the Ukrainian energy system. In particular, more than 38 tons of energy equipment from various European countries were transferred to Ukraine already last week.
The plans include the arrival of more significant amounts of aid, such as generators and transformers, which are already on their way from EU countries and international organizations, in particular UNDP and UNICEF.
“International partners continue to strengthen support in other directions as well. Last week alone, we received more than 38 tons of energy equipment from Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, Austria and Slovakia. Generators, transformers, cogeneration plants and other equipment are on the way from the EU, Lithuania, Austria, Poland, Finland, France, Azerbaijan, the Netherlands, as well as from UNDP and UNICEF/WASH,” he wrote.
Almost 342 tons of energy and technical assistance have already been transferred from the hubs of the Ministry of Energy to Ukrainian companies in the field of power grids, heat and power generation.
Against the background of the threat of power outages in conditions of increased risks for the energy infrastructure, the support of partners is critically important.
In addition, readiness for possible long-term shutdowns due to expected cold periods has been reported, which reinforces the need to urgently replenish stocks of necessary equipment and materials.
Kyiv region received the first aid package from Poland – 35 generators of various capacities and 18 oil heaters. This is the first stage of a large support program, which should ensure the stable operation of critical infrastructure in the region.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the financing of the first stage of the new state program “SvitloDim”, aimed at providing multi-apartment buildings with autonomous energy sources.
