Schmigal noted that in his speech before the Verkhovna Rada, even before the vote, he outlined the deputies three main areas for which he is about to work:
- People: The ministry should provide qualitatively Ukrainian soldiers. Qualitative provision, timely payments, reliable ammunition, modern communication and medical support are the main one for Ukrainian servicemen.
- Weapon: The first task is to increase weapons production. In this case, priority will be given to the Ukrainian manufacturer. Shmigal reminded that he has a task from President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky – to increase the share of Ukrainian weapons at the front from 40% to 50% for six months.
- System: The Ministry of Defense should work without delay and bureaucracy. Schmigal promised that there would be no duplication of functions, instead the rate would be made for speed and flexibility in decision making.
“I am sure that our joint work will give results. We will provide force that will bring peace and make it impossible for aggression in the future, ”he added.

The Verkhovna Rada also redefined Andrei Sibiga Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. “For” – 271 votes.
