In connection with the incident in Vyshgorod, when representatives of the TCC and the police smoked out the evader from the car with a gas canister, seven police officers were brought to disciplinary action.
Ivan Vyhivskyi, the head of the National Police, said this in an interview with Ukrainian News.
“In this case, we conducted an official investigation, 7 police officers, including the leaders of these two police officers who were at the scene, were brought to disciplinary action,” said Vyhivskyi.
He spoke about the details of the incident. According to him, the law enforcement officers who stopped the man, after checking his documents, found out that two criminal proceedings were registered against him and he was wanted for evading mobilization. The man was offered to go to the TCC, and he agreed. However, representatives of the TCC arrived on the scene, and, according to the head of the NPU, “what happened happened.”
“But we react harshly to every fact of such unprofessional actions, which disgrace the entire National Police,” he emphasized.
As reported, in December of last year, a video appeared on the Internet in which people in military uniform tried to open the car door by force. Men in military uniform sprayed the contents of a gas can into the interior of the car and set it on fire. Police officers also took part in the incident.
The Ministry of Defense said that in cooperation with law enforcement agencies, they are conducting an investigation and identifying the persons involved.
The police of the Kyiv region started an official investigation. Both police officers involved in the incident were suspended from duty during the investigation.
