– To Serhii Yuriyovych, Bukovyna’s first sparring session at the Transcarpathian meeting and the first match in 2026 are behind us. They say that such matches are more for coaches, for information, analysis and reflection. What did you see in the performance of your wards today?
– All matches are primarily for coaches and for analysis. We understand that we are not yet in optimal conditions. The boys played 45 minutes each today and I am very pleased with their attitude. The halves turned out to be different. In the first half of the game, we played better in defense, but were not so active and aggressive in attack. In the second half, they played more combinational, attacking football, were more aggressive in front, but in some episodes there was a lack of discipline in defense. I am grateful to the boys for the victory and for the fact that we pressed the opponent. Metalist 1925 have very good youngsters – I liked the way they played in this match and I liked the way we countered them. Of course, we will analyze this sparring, analyze it and move forward step by step. I am convinced that with each game we will add, and each subsequent match will be better than the previous one. The first sparring matches are always like this – after a long break that lasted almost two months, there is still nervousness in the players’ actions, misunderstandings. This is normal, it will be much better in the future.
– Maksym Wojtykhovsky scored his debut goal for “Bukovyna” today. How important is it to him from a psychological point of view?
– Of course, it is very important. From a psychological point of view, it is extremely important for an attacker to score in the first match, even more so, to score a winning goal. This goal will give him confidence. Wojtychowski is only entering the process of understanding our football. We talked with him before the game – I explained how I want to see him on the field, how he should act. And what is most important for an attacker? Score goals. He did it today, so I congratulated Maksym on his first goal for Bukovyna.
– Shynkarenko and Hrusha played today in positions not quite familiar to them. Was it a forced decision? How satisfied are you with their actions?
– Yes, it was a forced decision. But I really liked how both Hrusha and Dmytro Shinkarenko looked in these positions during the training process. And today in the match they also played very well. I am satisfied with their actions – both Dmytro and Vitaly had a high-quality match.
