“The representative of Ukraine turned out to be stronger than Rajab Butayev after ten rounds”, — write: sport.ua
The former interim world champion met at the “Meta Apex” arena Serhiy Bogachuk (26–3, 24 KO) and a Russian Rajab Butaev (16–1, 12 KO), who fought in the middle weight category limit (up to 72.6 kg).
The Ukrainian’s opponent seized the initiative from the first seconds – he delivered heavy blows to the body, regularly combined, and moved well on his feet.
Serhii tried to level the course of the fight by increasing the pace. It turned out that Butaev was inferior in speed to his opponent, who did not always have time to return to the defense.
In the fifth round, Bogachuk changed his stance, tried to knock out his opponent, throwing a huge number of punches. Both maintained a high speed, demonstrating a very spectacular and intense fight.
In the ninth round, Butaev seized the initiative again – he worked as number two, but easily broke through to close range and successfully countered his opponent.
According to the results of ten rounds, the judges recorded a difficult but well-deserved victory for the Ukrainian, who defeated his opponent by split decision of the judges!
Bogachuk overcame the defeat he suffered last September against the American Brandon Adams. For Butayev, the failure in the confrontation with the Ukrainian was the second in his professional career.
Serhiy Bogachuk (Ukraine) – Rajab Butaev – SD 10 (96–94, 96–94, 94–96)
