Ukrainian tennis player Diana Yastremska (WTA 33) has learned her next opponent at the 2025 Australian Open.

In the 2nd round, the Ukrainian will play against Danky Kovinych (Montenegro, WTA 1289), who at the start of the major unexpectedly beat Lula Sun (New Zealand, WTA 44) in two sets in 1 hour and 29 minutes.

30-year-old Kovinich won her first victory since November 2024, and she last won on the Tour in August 2023. Last season, Danka practically did not perform due to a back injury.
