The Security Service of Ukraine reported that it detained the largest network of agents of the Russian Federation, which specialized in “hunting” for F-16 in Ukraine, writes UNN.

Military counterintelligence of the Security Service neutralized a large-scale agent network of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces (known as the game). Criminals spied on the Defense Forces in 5 regions of Ukraine. As a result of the special operation, 12 Russian agents and their informants were exposed. Some of them are deserters who voluntarily left the units of the Armed Forces, and when they were hiding from justice, they were recruited by the Russian special service

According to reports, the members of the enemy cell acted separately from each other and focused on the resident (head) of the agent group, who was located in the Dnipropetrovsk region. For the conspiracy, he used forged “cover documents”, such as a fake “volunteer certificate” and “anti-corruption activist”, the special service said.

As indicated, he involved accomplices from Zaporizhzhia, as well as Kharkiv, Sumy, Mykolaiv, and Odesa regions to cooperate with the aggressor.

In these regions, the perpetrators scouted the firing positions of Ukrainian air defense, tried to identify the locations of secret military airfields, where, according to the Rashists, F-16 aircraft could be based

A separate task of the enemy agents, according to the SBU, was “establishing the addresses of companies that are involved in the production of means of radio-electronic warfare against Russian drones.”

In order to obtain intelligence, as the SBU noted, the perpetrators “covertly” used their acquaintances, in particular Ukrainian military personnel who were in the frontline regions of Ukraine. “In the case of receiving preliminary information, the agents went to the area to conduct reconnaissance near potential targets. At first, the members of the agent group “reported” to the resident, and then he passed the information on to his Russian curator,” the SBU said.

“Military counter-intelligence of the Security Service exposed the entire enemy cell early, detained the organizer and informed his key accomplices of the suspicion. Currently, the question of announcing the suspicion to other members of the network is being resolved,” the SBU reported.

During the searches, mobile phones, flash drives, military documents and fake IDs were allegedly seized from them.

Detainees were notified of suspicion (according to the crimes committed) under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

◾️ Part 2 of Article 111 (treason committed under martial law);

◾️ h. 2 Art. 114-2 (unauthorized dissemination of information about the movement, movement or location of the Armed Forces).

Comprehensive measures are underway to bring to justice other members of the Russian intelligence network. Perpetrators face from 8 years in prison to life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
