Saul Alvarez commented on the decision Terence Crawford to end his career and admitted he was saddened by the news.
The Mexican, after the defeat in September at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, hoped for a rematch with his opponent. Then Crawford, having immediately moved up two weight categories to 168 pounds, unexpectedly defeated Canelo by a unanimous decision of the judges and became the absolute champion of the world.
However, in December, the American announced his retirement, which led to the division of the championship belts in the second middleweight. Despite this, Alvarez does not lose hope for another fight.
“We have to get him back in the box,” Canelo stated succinctly.
