Pictures posted by the Ukrainian OSINT channel Exilenova_plus showed the extent of the flooding of the areas below the reservoir. It can be seen that significant areas downstream of the Siverskyi Donets River are already flooded. Water continues to flow, and gradually the area of inundation expands.
Impact on the dam – what is knownWe will remind that the Forces of unmanned systems of the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck the dam of the Belgorod Reservoir in the morning of October 26. After several impacts, the dam’s locks were critically damaged and water began to flow out uncontrollably. According to estimates, the reservoir shallowed by 1 meter per day.
The video, on which you can see the damaged locks and the uncontrolled discharge of water, was posted on the network, probably by the employees of the facility.
According to military analysts, the Russian occupiers in the Vovchansk region of the Kharkiv region will feel the flooding of territories as a result of the water discharge. Some of their positions have already been flooded, and the logistics of the occupiers will also be disrupted.
