Details: Sandu said that on Christmas Day, “the Kremlin chooses the path of destruction – it attacks the energy infrastructure of Ukraine and violates the airspace of Moldova with a missile.”
“These actions clearly violate international law. Moldova condemns these actions and fully stands in solidarity with Ukraine,” the Moldovan president added.
On the night before Christmas, December 25, Russia launched another missile attack on Ukraine. According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, Russia fired more than 70 missiles and more than a hundred drones at Ukraine, Ukrainian air defense managed to shoot down “more than 50 missiles and a significant part of drones.”
While our countries celebrate Christmas, the Kremlin chooses destruction—targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and violating Moldova’s airspace with a missile, actions that clearly violate international law. Moldova condemns these acts and stands in full solidarity with Ukraine.

It will be recalled that at 7:24 a.m. on December 25, the Ukrainian Air Force reported a cruise missile flying “in the direction of Chernivtsi from the territory of Moldova.”
Monitoring agencies claim that the Russian rocket traveled 140 kilometers through the territory of Moldova and Romania, flying from the area of the city of Yampil in Vinnytsia (near the Moldovan border) and landing in the area of the city of Daraban (a Romanian city near the border with Moldova).
The Romanian side has not yet confirmed data on the passage of a Russian missile over its territory.
