Forward of “Liverpool” and the national team of Egypt Mohamed Salah faced criticism from a section of Muslim fans for posting a Christmas greeting.
The football player published on his page in the X social network a photo of his daughters against the background of a Christmas tree with the caption: “Merry Christmas.”
In the comments on the post, some fans said that the forward of “Liverpool” should not have congratulated Catholics on the religious holiday, accusing him of disrespecting his own faith.
At the same time, Salah received many messages of support from both Muslims and representatives of other faiths. Fans noted the humanity of the Egyptian’s act.
