“Sadness is still there.” Nasibov spoke about the silver at the Olympics in Tokyo and Paris

Parviz went to France for gold”, — write: sport.ua

Ukrainian athlete Parviz Nasibov in an exclusive interview for Sport.ua, he spoke about the silver medals of the Olympic Games in Tokyo-2021 and Paris-2024:

“I went to the first Olympics as a dark horse, no one expected anything from me, everything seemed unusual to me. Not everyone manages to reach the finals the first time. Therefore, when I was able, emotions overflowed.

Now in Paris, I already expected a good performance from myself. I will say directly: I went for gold. I understand that we have a time when there is a war in the country, medals, and especially the first places, are of special importance. I have many friends at the front. My victory could raise their fighting spirit. Not only theirs, because there are many people in the army who are interested in sports, in particular wrestling, and have followed the Olympics. For me, these are not empty words.

In general, if I go to a competition, I want, unlike many of our athletes, not to be a tourist, but to devote myself completely and fight for medals. Therefore, when I lost in the final, I was very upset. I will not hide it, this sadness is still there. In the end, the goal remained. I have not achieved it now, so I will try to achieve it in the future.”
