This was announced by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umyerov.
“Today, together with the President of Ukraine and the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrsky, a number of important personnel decisions were made. According to my proposal, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed the new commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine — Major General Mykhailo Drapatoy,” Rustem Umyerov said.
Also, the experienced commander of the 95th separate amphibious assault brigade, Colonel Oleg Apostol, has been appointed Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
“I am convinced that the newly appointed leaders, who have combat experience, will make every effort to ensure the quality training of our servicemen and the effective performance of tasks for the defense of Ukraine,” the Minister of Defense noted.
Rustem Umyerov thanked Lieutenant General Oleksandr Pavlyuk, who led the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces during a difficult period for the state, for his service.
“His contribution to the defense of our country deserves respect. We continue to strengthen the Armed Forces to achieve the main goal — victory in the war and restoration of the territorial integrity of our state,” Rustem Umyerov concluded.
As reported by ArmiyaInform, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi emphasized the need for changes in the structure of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the new appointments are due to this.
