Russian troops shelled Pokrovsk with artillery, two people were killed – the prosecutor’s office

On September 24, the Russian military previously shelled the city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk region with artillery. As a result of the attack, two people died, the Office of the Chief Prosecutor reported.

“As a result of a hit on the private sector, two men, 33 and 34 years old, died from life-threatening injuries. At the time of the shelling, they were near the homestead. Residential buildings and cars were also damaged,” the prosecutor’s office says.

The authorities of Donetsk region have repeatedly stated that there are no safe places left on the territory of the region, and therefore called for evacuation. At the beginning of September, due to the offensive of the Russian Federation forces and for security reasons, Ukrzaliznytsia canceled the departure of the evacuation train from Pokrovsk, now the starting point of its route is Pavlograd, Dnipropetrovsk region, located more than 100 kilometers from Pokrovsk. Evacuation by vehicles, in particular, buses, remains available.

The forces of the Russian Federation regularly attack the Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons – attack UAVs, missiles, anti-aircraft missiles, anti-aircraft missiles.

The leadership of Russia denies that the Russian army during a full-scale war inflicts targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the cities and villages of Ukraine, killing the civilian population and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.

The Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes by the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are purposeful in nature.
