Russia continues its attacks on energy infrastructure in Ukraine, and last night it struck Dnipropetrovsk region, but power has already been restored to everyone. In Odesa region, about 32,000 consumers are still without electricity, and due to systemic shelling by Russia, an average of about 400,000 subscribers are without power daily. Meanwhile, blackout schedules continue, the Ministry of Energy and NEC “Ukrenergo” reported on Wednesday, writes UNN.

Enemy shelling”The situation in Ukraine’s energy system remains difficult due to constant Russian attacks on energy infrastructure facilities. Last night, the enemy attacked Dnipropetrovsk region. All consumers have been supplied with power,” the Ministry of Energy reported.

According to the Ministry of Energy, emergency restoration work continues in Odesa region, which suffered significant damage as a result of massive attacks on December 13 and 14. As Ukrenergo noted, most of the consumers in Odesa region who were de-energized as a result of massive missile and drone attacks have already been supplied with power. “As of this morning, about 32,000 subscribers are awaiting electricity supply,” the Ministry of Energy said in a statement.

“Due to systemic shelling by the Russian Federation, an average of about 400,000 consumers remain without electricity daily, mainly in border and frontline regions. The number of de-energized subscribers varies depending on the intensity of enemy strikes,” the Ministry of Energy reported.

As noted by the Ministry of Energy, “Russia continues to attack power plants, as well as electricity transmission and distribution facilities, which complicates and prolongs the restoration process.” “At the same time, repair work continues uninterruptedly, which allows the situation in the energy system to remain under control,” the ministry noted.

Blackout schedulesAccording to Ukrenergo, “in most regions of Ukraine today, measures to limit consumption are being applied: power limitation schedules for industrial consumers and businesses, and hourly blackouts.”

“In regions where hourly blackouts are applied, the need for economical energy consumption remains. We urge you to limit the use of powerful electrical appliances as much as possible and, if possible, to shift energy-intensive processes to night hours after 11:00 PM,” the Ministry of Energy emphasized.

As the ministry noted, “as a result of reviewing the lists, it was possible to free up at least 800 MW of electrical capacity, which will help reduce the duration of blackout schedules for the population and industry.”

ConsumptionAccording to Ukrenergo, electricity consumption shows an upward trend. Today, December 17, as of 9:30 AM, its level was 2.2% higher than at this time the previous day. The reason is cloudy weather in most regions of Ukraine, as well as a smaller volume of applied consumption restriction measures compared to the previous day.

On December 16, the daily maximum consumption was in the evening – at the same level as the previous day.
