Russia: the governor of the Krasnodar region reported damage to the gas pipeline due to UAV debris

In the village of Petrivska in the Krasnodar region of Russia, an underwater gas pipeline and a roof in a private house were damaged, and windows were broken, Governor Veniamin Kondratyev reported, RFE/RL reports.

He claims that the damage was caused by “falling UAV debris.” According to Kondratiev, no one was injured.

The Ministry of Defense of Russia reported on the downing of 15 Ukrainian drones on the night of January 9. Five drones were destroyed over the Belgorod Region, one over the Bryansk Region, and nine over the Krasnodar Territory.

In Belgorod, according to Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov, debris from one of the downed drones pierced the roof of an apartment building. In the village of Krutiy Log, Belgorod district, debris from a downed drone damaged a private house, a car, and a power line.

In Bryansk, according to local authorities, there were no injuries or casualties.

The Ukrainian command did not comment on these reports.

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russian regions have regularly come under shelling and drone attacks. The Ministry of Defense of Russia reports on downed missiles and drones over the territory of Russia. Kyiv mostly does not comment on these messages.
