On January 11, the Russian attack on Ukraine by Shaheds began around 17:00, as of 20:52 on January 11, an air alert was announced in nine regions. In one of them — Cherkasy — the alarm was partially exposed, only in Zolotony and Cherkasy districts.
At 5:10 p.m., the Air Force reported a group of Shaheds in Sumy Oblast moving west, and at 5:24 p.m. — that Shaheds from Sumy Oblast were moving to Chernihiv Oblast.
At 5:39 p.m., the Air Force announced a missile threat in Dnipropetrovsk region, and at 5:50 p.m. it announced the launch of anti-aircraft missiles by tactical aircraft of the occupiers in Donetsk region.
At 17:52, the Air Force reported that a group of Shaheds in the southern part of Chernihiv Oblast was moving west, and at 18:05 — that Shaheds were moving from Chernihiv Oblast towards Kyiv Oblast.
At 18:46, the Air Force warned that new groups of Shaheds were entering the Sumy region, at 19:18 — that the threat of using Shaheds appeared in Kharkiv Oblast.
At 7:30 p.m., the Air Force announced that the Shaheds in Sumy Oblast were moving southwest and south, the Shaheds in Chernihiv Oblast were also moving southwest and south, and the Shaheds in Kharkiv Oblast were moving west.
At 7:50 p.m., the Air Force reported the appearance of a Shahed threat in Poltava Oblast, and at 8:13 p.m. — that Shaheds from Kharkiv Oblast were flying in the direction of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
At 8:20 p.m., the Air Force noted that Shaheds were moving from Poltava Oblast towards Cherkasy Oblast.
As of 8:30 p.m., the situation with the Shaheds over Ukraine was as follows:
- UAVs in the Sumy region were moving in the south-west and south directions.
- UAVs in Chernihiv region, moving in a western direction.
- UAVs in Poltava region, moving in the south-western and western directions.

At 20:42, the Air Force also warned about Shaheds from Dnipropetrovsk Oblast moving towards Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
At 8:43 p.m., the Air Force announced the activity of enemy tactical aircraft in the eastern direction and the threat of the use of air weapons for front-line areas.
At 8:45 p.m., the Air Force announced new launches of anti-aircraft missiles in Donetsk region.
As of 20:52, an air alert was announced in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia regions, as well as in Cherkasy and Zolotonsky districts of Cherkasy region.
On January 10, it was reported that the Cherkasy region began testing a new air alert system, the main idea of which is to announce an alert in case of danger from UAVs not on the entire territory of the region, but only in the area where there is a real danger.
Initially, it was reported that the pilot project was launched in two regions — Kyiv and Cherkasy. However, according to detailed information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, testing began only in Cherkasy Oblast.
