“The illegal deportation and violent Russification of Ukrainian children is part of the Kremlin’s genocidal policy on the Ukrainian people. Ukraine will never agree to compromise in this matter,” Yuri Vitrenko emphasized.
Vitrenko talks about at least 380 Ukrainian children who have been transferred to the so -called “temporary custody” (illegally adopted) in Russia. Only 1227 children managed to return, although Russia continues to interfere with this process in all possible ways.
He drew attention to the importance of involving the international community in this issue and called on the OSCE for more active actions for the return of children and their reintegration to Ukraine.

Ukraine expects to actively participate in the return of all deported children, illegally detained civilians and medical workers, in the protection of prisoners of war, as well as in the release of Crimean political prisoners.”
Details: In his speech, Vitrenko also emphasized separately on systematic torture and other forms of illegal treatment, which are experienced by Ukrainian civilians and prisoners of war in Russian captivity.
“The issue of keeping Russia in isolation of Ukrainian civilians and servicemen, as well as the prohibition of access to UN representatives and the International Committee of the Red Cross, remains critical,” he said.
