“The concept of greater security with lesser means has been replaced by the concept of achieving military advantage in all operational environments and in all theaters. The Baltic, the Black Sea region, and the Arctic have been turned into zones of confrontation by the EU and NATO,” said the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
He claimed that there are no signs that the EU and NATO are ready to de-escalate and “return to peaceful coexistence.”
“On the contrary, there is a purposeful preparation of the economy, society, and military organization for an inevitable armed conflict with Russia, which is intended as a long-term threat and which is maniacally attributed with absurd intentions to attack NATO,” the Russian diplomat said.
During the speech, Hrushko also expressed complaints about the work of the OSCE, accusing it of a “hybrid war” against the Russian Federation and “Ukrainization” of the agenda.
It will be recalled that on December 2, Russian leader Vladimir Putin said that if Europe “wants to start a war with us and will start it, we are ready for it.”
At the end of November, the head of the Kremlin claimed that Russia seemed ready to state that it was not going to attack Europe.
