The comments of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio about the possible exit of the US and ceasefire between Ukraine and the Russian Federation were aimed at clicking on Ukraine, not to Russia, reports AXIOS, citing a source close to the Ukrainian government.
The interlocutor of the agency also expressed concern that the release of US President Donald Trump on negotiations can lead to suspension of military assistance to Ukraine.
At the same time, European diplomats said Rubio did not say about increasing pressure on Russia during Parisian meetings.
“It seemed that Rubio and Vitcoff were under high pressure from Trump, and they translate it to other players, ”one of the European diplomats said.
It is noted that the US Secretary of State also divided the disappointment of Trump with French, British, German and Ukrainian officials who gathered in Paris on Thursday, April 17, to discuss the way to peace.
“Rubio did not specify what the step would look like, but only emphasized that the United States wanted rapid progress, ”Axios said one of the European diplomats.

The other two European diplomats confirmed Rubio’s words that Trump “loses patience ”and can get out of the process if the agreement is not reached soon.
Axios calls it unlikely that the Kremlin will have special concern about it.
On April 18, Rubio stated that the states are expecting progress to reach peace in Ukraine for several days, otherwise President Donald Trump would be informed that negotiations are no longer senseless.
On the same day, commenting on the words of the State Secretary, Trump confirmed that the United States would leave peace talks if one of the parties “very complicated” the process.
The State Department also stated that “the states will deviate from the efforts from mediation in establishing peace, unless a clear path to it appears in the near future.”
On April 17, Trump said he was expecting to hear this week the decision of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to cease fire in Ukraine. Earlier, Rubio stated that Washington would not endlessly negotiate with Russia and evaluate for weeks, whether the Kremlin is ready for peace.
