Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirats are regarded by Russia as possible venals of the summit between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, two Russian sources, known with the course of negotiation, reported Reuters.

Russian officials have repeatedly denied any direct contact with the United States to prepare a telephone conversation between Trump and Putin, which would precede a possible meeting later this year.

However, according to Russian sources, which have spoken on the conditions of anonymity, high -ranking Russian officials have visited Saudi Arabia and the UAE over the last weeks.

One source reported that in Russia there is still some opposition to this idea, as some diplomats and intelligence staff indicate close military and security ties that have both the kingdom and the UAE with the United States.

Saudi Arabia and UAE did not respond to requests, and in the Russian Federation they refused. The agency means that both Trump and Putin have a friendly relationship with the rulers of Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Trump repeatedly stated that he would not allow a full -scale invasion of Russia in Ukraine if he was in office. At the same time, he was president from 2016 to 2020, when Russian aggression lasted in eastern Ukraine.

During the election campaign, Donald Trump stated that it could cease the Russian Federation in Ukraine within 24 hours of joining the post. However, at a press conference on January 7, he said he hopes to complete the fighting for six months.

The other day, Trump said that talks with Ukraine and Russia are “quite good”, and its administration prepares “meetings and negotiations” with Ukraine, Russia and “different sides”.

On January 31, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Russia’s war against Ukraine would not end with the achievement of “maximalist goals” of the parties, and repeated that both of them would have to make concessions on possible future negotiations.

Moscow previously called the conditions of peace talks: withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions, recognition of these regions part of Russia, neutral status of Ukraine and sanctions. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called it an ultimatum, insisting on NATO security guarantees and preserving weapons.

On January 20, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting of the Russian Security Council that Russia was open to dialogue with the new administration of US President Donald Trump on Ukraine. Putin also congratulated Donald Trump on the post of US President and stated that Russia was hoping to build a dialogue with states on the basis of mutual respect.

According to the American Institute of War Study, Putin repeated on January 20 that the Kremlin was ready to negotiate with the United States on the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, but made it clear that it retains its requirements for the full surrender of Ukraine.
