Who are among the leaders?

The undisputed leader remains McDonald’s, which earned UAH 12.9 billion, which is almost 40% of the total revenue of the sector, with an increase of 297% compared to 2022.

KFC showed a revenue of UAH 2.5 billion. Other major players:

• Puzata Khata — almost UAH 951 million;

• Domino’s Pizza — over UAH 369 million;

• Sushi — more than UAH 322 million;

• Salateira — almost UAH 289 million;

• WOG Cafe (chain of cafes at WOG gas stations) — UAH 174 million;

• Tarrantino Family — UAH 138 million.

Geographic leadership

Kyiv remains the center of the gastronomic industry, generating 72% of all industry revenues (23 billion UAH in 2023). In second place is the Dnipropetrovsk region with an income of UAH 1.6 billion, and Lviv Oblast is in third place (UAH 1.4 billion).

The impact of war

The highest increase in income was recorded in the Donetsk region — 570%, but this is the data of only three companies. Significant growth also occurred in the Kherson region (+122%) after the liberation of the region. State support for the industry In 2023–2024, companies in the restaurant industry received almost UAH 1.3 billion from the state budget.

The most funds were received by:

“Fabryka Smaku” LLC (Odesa) — UAH 397 million;

Volodymyretsk public catering plant (Rivnenshchyna) — UAH 273 million;

LLC “Layar City” (Lviv region) — UAH 81 million.

Also, the number of new entrepreneurs in the industry continues to grow. In 2023, almost 19.4 thousand were registered. FOPs, which is 100% more than in 2022.
