That is because Owens was handed the opportunity to do a mock walk-out at the York Barbican.

Footage shared by TNT Sports on X shows announcer Rob Walker welcoming snooker’s tiniest prodigy into the arena in style.

He said: “His favourite TV programme is The Octonauts. His bedtime is 6:15pm. He is a huge Man United fan.

“Remember the name. Remember the face. Here he comes at the tender age of two. It’s Jude Owens.”

Owens dressed to impress for the special occasion, with him kitted out in a waistcoat and red bow tie.

He also walked to the table with a cue in his hand while John Denver hit Take Me Home, Country Roads blared through the speakers.

Owens, who showed no nerves, also made his way past the UK Championship trophy and took a seat as if he was about to get a frame underway.

The World Snooker Tour previously dubbed the toddler a “future champ” and described him as “the cutest snooker player ever” when they shared a video on social media.

In the footage, he can be seen confidently potting a red, yellow and two blacks – while still using a dummy – as well as chalking his cue.

Although Owens grabbed plenty of attention at the Barbican, some of the biggest names in snooker are gunning for glory at the UK Championship.

Judd Trump – who won the competition last year – Shaun Murphy, John Higgins, Neil Robertson and Mark Williams were among the names to book their place in the second round on Saturday.

The likes of Ronnie O’Sullivan, Mark Selby, Kyren Wilson and Mark Allen will be looking to join them when they enter the tournament today.
