Tesla has accused Rivian of tricking employees into stealing trade secrets for years. But now Elon Musk’s company is waiting for the court case to be closed.

Tesla said it had achieved conditional” agreement with Rivian Automotive Inc. The company did not disclose details of the deal in court documents, but said it expects to close the case by Dec. 24 after satisfying the terms, Bloomberg writes.

The dispute began more than four years ago, when Elon Musk’s company accused Rivian of luring its employees and stealing trade secrets. Tesla later revealed that some workers were caught red-handed when they misappropriated the core technology for the next-generation batteries. Rivian has denied the allegations and criticized the lawsuit as an attempt by Tesla to stifle competition in the electric car market.

Rivian and a group of Tesla employees sought to have the lawsuit dismissed, but lost.
