The Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Dick Schoof, condemned the “anti-Semitic attacks”: the politician said that he followed the development of events with horror and said that he had spoken with the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu.
“The guilty will be brought to justice,” Dick Shoof emphasized.
Amsterdam City Hall, the police and the prosecutor’s office held a joint press conference on Friday following violence directed at Israeli fans on the sidelines of a Europa League soccer match.
Of the 62 people arrested in connection with the violence in Amsterdam, ten – including two minors – are in custody.
It is noted that the ten suspects will be tried “in an expedited trial as soon as possible.”
Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halsema announced orders to increase security starting today and throughout the weekend. The entire city has been declared a risk zone. A ban on demonstrations and increased police presence are planned.
Meanwhile, Israel sent commercial planes to the Netherlands to bring home Israeli soccer fans after overnight attacks in Amsterdam.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said the order to send the planes came after a “very violent incident” against Israeli citizens following a match between Maccabi and Ajax Amsterdam, traditionally identified as a Jewish club.
