Famous British tennis player Emma Radukanu encountered aggressive Australian fauna. The athlete who won the US Open in 2021 was bitten by mosquitoes or ants. Despite a strong allergic reaction, Radukanu did not risk using the proposed medicine.

The British tennis player was afraid that the use of an antiseptic spray offered to the athlete could give a positive reaction to doping. Radukanu did not want to find herself in the situation that Iga Sveontek and Yannick Sinner found themselves in.

“I didn’t want to accept it. I didn’t want to spray it. I was just left there with a swollen ankle and hand. I thought I would just endure it because I didn’t want to take any risks,” Radukanu said.

Emma Radukanu will prepare for the start at the Australian Open 2025, which will be held from January 12 to 26 in Melbourne. In the first round, the Briton will meet with the 26th-seeded Kateryna Oleksandrova.
