On Monday, September 23, during a speech at the Future Summit at the UN headquarters, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that Russia and its allies are trying to undermine global unity.
This was reported by the press service of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
During the speech, Zelensky emphasized that the Russian Federation and its allies once again tried to undermine global unity and reduce the effectiveness of the UN Charter.
“You all see who not only opposes it, but actively works to undermine Global Unity. This time, while working on the Pact for the Future, the same small group of seven accomplices, led by Russia, again acted destructively, always opposing any global initiatives that strengthen the effectiveness of the UN Charter. This group has always behaved like this when the UN has tried to do something that works for the benefit of all, and you all see it,” he said.
The President also reminded that Ukraine is preparing to hold the second peace summit.
“Now we are preparing for the second peace summit. Step by step, we are moving forward with our partners according to the peace formula. And we are working on food security, energy security and holding Russia accountable for its terror. We will then move on to all other points of the peace formula, including the release of prisoners, restoration of territorial integrity and much more,” he added.
Zelensky also called on all countries to support Ukraine’s efforts for a just and peaceful future.
“I invite all state leaders to continue to support our joint efforts for a just and peaceful future. Putin has already stolen a lot, but he will never steal the future of the world. I am sure of this,” the President of Ukraine emphasized.
On September 22, Zelensky announced that he had arrived in the United States to participate in the UN General Assembly.
He noted that in the USA he will present the plan for the victory of Ukraine to all the leaders of the partner countries. It will also be presented to both parties in Congress and to the candidates for the US presidency, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.
On September 24, the head of state will speak at the UN Security Council meeting dedicated to Russia’s war against Ukraine, and on September 25 – at the UN General Assembly.
