Sanctioned pro-Russian blogger Vsevolod Filimonenko took part online in the January 15, 2026 court hearing in the case against the head of the Anti-Corruption Center (CPC) Vitaly Shabunin.

The case, which started back in 2017 due to the conflict near the Dnipro Military Committee in Kyiv, was on pause in terms of the involvement of Filimonenko, who since June 2020 systematically ignored the meeting. The sudden appearance of the blogger, who has been living abroad since 2019 and is currently in Spain, coincided with increased media activity on his Telegram channel, where he once again started commenting on the proceedings. The CPC considers such activation a sign of pressure from the authorities on Shabunin, since the involvement of a person subject to sanctions may be part of a political agreement in exchange for the relaxation of sanctions against the blogger.
The figure of Vsevolod Filimonenko causes considerable resonance due to his open cooperation with the propaganda resources of the aggressor country. In March 2024, he became a participant in the film of the Russian First Channel “Zelensky and his combat addicts”, aimed at discrediting the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the top leadership of the state. Due to the systematic spread of Kremlin narratives, on September 20, 2025, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, implemented the decision of the NSDC to introduce personal sanctions against Filimonenko for a period of 10 years.

Shabunin noted who is not going to run away from the investigation, as the prosecution says.
On July 11, employees of the SBI informed the head of the Anti-corruption Center Vitaly Shabunin of the suspicion of evading military service and unauthorized use of a car intended for the Armed Forces.
