The Red Devils are sat in 14th position heading into the international break.

They’ve collected eight points from a possible 21 while only promoted Southampton have scored fewer than their five league goals.

Ten Hag, 54, has overseen a total of 10 competitive matches in all competitions this season and has beaten only Fulham, Southampton and Barnsley.

United are now five without a win, but did at least show some resilience and defensive solidity during Sunday’s goalless draw against Aston Villa.

After the clash, in which co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe was in attendance, Ten Hag was asked if United’s hierarchy was fully behind him.

He said: “I don’t have any idea that is different because they should have told me. We communicate – very open, very transparent.

“I would say every day we talk, so I expect I will speak with them. We know what we are working through, it’s a long-term process.

“We have come through two very tough away games. This is a team, we showed the belief and faith we have.”

Gary O’Neil is next in the market at 11/4 following their 5-3 defeat to Brentford and having overseen their worst-ever start to a Premier League campaign.

Wolves remain winless after seven matches and are rock-bottom of the division with a single point and the highest number of goals conceded (21).

“It’s the worst game I’ve been involved in as a coach,” O’Neil told BBC. “It’s the furthest I’ve seen the group from what we wanted to look like. We were wide open. Crazy, crazy goals we gave away.”

Russell Martin follows at 3/1 after a similarly poor start to the season that’s seen Southampton lose six of their opening seven games.
