Poturaev supported checks of military documents after the “Ocean Elsa” concert in Kyiv

People’s deputy from “Servant of the People” and head of the parliamentary committee on humanitarian and information policy Nikita Poturaev On October 12, he commented on the inspection of military documents of visitors to the concert of the band “Ocean Elsa” in Kyiv the day before.

The head of the committee, which deals, in particular, with issues of culture and art, said that he does not consider such inspections at this or other mass events “a threat to Ukrainian culture.”

“Just as I don’t consider checking documents in bars or clubs a threat to the Ukrainian economy. Moreover, I welcome such checks, and I believe that they should be comprehensive and permanent. And everyone should know about it,” said Poturaev.

At the same time, the People’s Deputy from “European Solidarity” Mykola Knyazhytskyi considers the inspection of the TCC “a threat to Ukrainian culture”.

“I understand when TCC checks documents in front of expensive restaurants and shops. I support it. There should be justice and equality in society. But mass raids at concerts of Ukrainian artists are a crime directed against Ukrainian culture and the Ukrainian army. Then don’t be surprised by Russian pop music and language on the streets of Kyiv, traitors and collaborators, and the increase of fugitives across the Tisza,” he wrote on Facebook.

Knyazhytskyi is the chairman of the subcommittee on cultural policy of the Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

In a comment to “Society” in police stated that “law enforcement officers carried out law enforcement and response.”

Earlier, the TSN.ua channel published a comment by the band’s frontman Svyatoslav Vakarchuk about the events after the band’s concert. According to him, the musicians are “very happy” about the number of people who came to support them.

“In general, this is a big holiday for us. These 30 years were very important for us. We are very grateful to people for these 30 years. Including for the fact that they continue to come to support us now. For us it is just joy and celebration. That’s all I have to say, my only comment. Full stop,” Vakarchuk’s quote reads.

The press service of the band also did not mention the verification of documents in the posts after the concert.

The concert of “Oceanu Elsa” in Kyiv on October 11 was dedicated to the band’s 30th anniversary. After him, as reported by the media from the scene, employees of the local territorial procurement center. According to eyewitnesses, they checked the men’s military documents, several were sent to the TCC.
