People’s deputy Petro Poroshenko declared more than 450 million hryvnias of income from transactions with securities in just one and a half months — at the end of December and in January. These are earnings from bonds and shares of foreign companies, declared as income from abroad.
Relevant data appeared on the website of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption. According to the declaration, we are talking about profits from bonds and shares of foreign companies. The documents state that companies from different countries of the world are issuers of securities. Among them are the USA, Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy and Australia. Poroshenko indicated all these incomes as foreign income.
Such a sharp increase in wealth for a people’s deputy is not an isolated case. Previously, a number of Ukrainian media drew attention to the fact that after the start of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, Poroshenko’s income increased significantly.
According to journalistic investigations and financial ratings, after February 24, 2022, its profits increased tenfold compared to the pre-war period. Some estimates put it at almost a thirty-fold increase. According to the results of recent years, Petro Poroshenko is consistently among the top three richest Ukrainian oligarchs according to versions of profile ratings. The basis of his wealth consists of assets in the financial sector, industry and investments abroad.
At the same time, the politician himself has repeatedly stated that all income is legal, declared and received within the limits of current legislation.
