““This can be perceived as excessive punishment””, – WRITE: www.radiosvoboda.org
“I believe that if it was not a war now, then, according to the regulations, what could happen to it is a removal for three meetings, that is, for three days. And so, I think that there is a certain problem in the fact that since we do not have separate meetings, we have one meeting with breaks, then this removal for half a year, it can be perceived in Europe as excessive punishment. Because if for three days, everyone would understand. And this can be perceived as excessive punishment. And in principle, I would not want it to be perceived, ”the People’s Deputy said.
According to Potraev, he will vote for the removal of Petro Poroshenko from work in the Verkhovna Rada, but is worried about the reaction of colleagues in Europe. The deputy refers to the “principle of proportionality of punishment” in European law.
“I will vote for a person who is the author of this statement as a decision that will give an assessment. And, if necessary, then a certain punishment, for what happened with my participation, unfortunately. But I hope that the Committee on Regulations and other colleagues can find some decision that will not be about half a year. Because I am really not what bothers me, but I know for sure that in European law there is a principle of proportionality of punishment. So, even with the fact that it is unacceptable behavior, for half a year can really be seen by our colleagues in Europe as excessive punishment, ”said Nikita Potraev.
When asked whether it is appropriate for the Verkhovna Rada in the conditions of war to spend time at a committee meeting and the removal of people’s deputies from work in parliament, Potraev reminded that he had expected public apologies from Poroshenko.
“If Petro Poroshenko would spend 10 seconds to say” I was not right ” – now all in emotions, we understand that the war, all stress – then did not need those two hours (Duration of the meeting of the Committee on Regulations – Ed.) And this is everything, ”the People’s Deputy said.
On January 30, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Regulations recommended that the deputies support the removal of the leader of the European Solidarity faction Petro Poroshenko from participation in parliamentary meetings. The faction reported that Poroshenko’s possibility of removing Poroshenko from work in parliament for half a year.
The European Solidarity Party stated that the President’s office presses against the members of the power faction of the “servant of the people” and tries to prohibit the leader of the opposition party Petro Poroshenko to be present at the plenary sessions of the council for the image of a colleague in Parliament Bohdan Yaremenko.
On the evening of January 30, Poroshenko stated on Facebook that he is now in France at meetings at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Parliament on “the importance of Ukraine’s fighters for Ukraine to fight cabin.”
“Despite the fact that we, oppositions, prevent working in parliament with their intrigues, monitor and put sticks in wheels on trips to the front, we continue to work,” he added.
Bogdan Yaremenko, a deputy from the Servant of the People, has not yet commented on a public incident, which became the basis for consideration on the Regulatory Committee.
The Committee’s decision should yet be supported by the Verkhovna Rada.
