In his latest speech, delivered a few hours before his death, Pope Francis again reminded the world of the tragedy of war in Ukraine.
CNN writes about it.
His words were heard during the Easter appeal, which was read by the Pontiff Assistant because of the difficult state of Francis’ health. In this message, he mentioned 11 countries and six regions at once, where conflicts continue, but paid special attention to Ukraine, which has been suffering from full -scale aggression of the Russian Federation for the third year in a row.
Pope Francis painted with pain that “a great desire for death, for murder we see every day in numerous conflicts that are burning in different parts of our world.” He mentioned separately the suffering of vulnerable, marginalized and migrants who are victims of cruelty and indifference.
At the same time, the Pope prayed for the Christian communities of Lebanon and Syria, called for “constructive dialogue” to overcome famine in Yemen, and also mentioned the violence in Sudan, the South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The pontiff expressed his hope for the embryo armistice in Myanmar, calling him a weak “sign of hope.”
Ukraine was a special place in the speech of Francis. He prayed for the “just and long peace” for our country, urging all parties not to stop efforts to achieve peace that would be based on justice.
The Pope expressed their condolences to all Ukrainians who are experiencing pain, loss and destruction daily through the war resolved by Russia. He also mentioned the suffering of people in gas, where there is a terrible conflict that takes away life and destroys homes.
We will remind, the Vatican officially published the spiritual will of the Pope Francis, who died on April 21 at the age of 88.
We have already reported that Reuters has published a list of nine cardinals that have the greatest chances of heading the Catholic Church.
