Most critics are related to the EU and the US trade agreement, concluded this summer after US President Donald Trump threatened to introduce 30 percent duties on European exports in the absence of an agreement.
According to a survey, 52%of respondents said they feel “humiliated” by this Agreement, especially in France (65%) and Spain (56%).
Three -quarters of respondents believe that von der Liaien could not protect European interests, but only 19% evaluated its activities positively. 77% of respondents believe that the agreement is mostly beneficial to the US economy, and 42% predict that European companies are most affected.
The Eurobazoka survey was conducted by Cluster17 in late August – early September in France, Spain, Italy, Germany and Poland. About 1000 people took part in each country.
Recall:
- On July 28, a Framework Agreement was concluded between US President Donald Trump and the Chairman of the European Commission.
- The agreement introduces a painful 15% duty on all goods from the EU to the US – from cars to wines. Trump praised the arrangement as “the greatest agreement that has ever been concluded.”
- At the same time, the German economy decreased by 0.3% against the background of slowing exports through US tariffs.
- On August 21, it became known that the European Union managed to fix zero tariffs by the United States for a number of goods such as planes and their parts and pharmaceutical generics.
