Police: Cherkasy detained a man who threatened to blow out a grenade during check -on

In Cherkasy, a 49-year-old resident during a check conducted by the military territorial center of acquisition and social support, threatened to undermine the grenade and tried to take hostages of servicemen of the Tax Code, the police of Cherkasy region reported. The man was detained.

“The Cherkasy District Police Department reported that during the implementation of measures in the Cherkasy city on the Avenue of the Chemists, the Cherkasy RTC and JV servicemen stopped the identity for the purpose of checking the accounting data. In the course of communication, the man got a grenade, pulled out a check, began to threaten the blast, and tried to take hostages of the TCC servicemen. A special police operation was immediately introduced in the city, ”police said.

“Due to the clear and professional actions of police officers, as well as SBU employees in the Cherkasy region, the threat of explosion has been prevented. The man was detained … The attacker seized three grenades with blasting and gun, ”the message reads.

The police have added the origin of explosive objects and weapons, as well as resolve the issue of notifying the detainee about suspicion of articles: “Illegal handling of weapons, combat supplies or explosives”, “threat or violence against an official or citizen,” He faces up to eight years in prison.

The regional shopping center was also informed about the incident, noting that it happened in the morning of August 5.

Police reported that no one was injured during the incident.
